Duntulm Old Coastguard Station

Away north of Duntulm Castle and the Duntulm Castle Hotel there is, perched on the cliffs at Rubha Hunish, an abandoned coastguard lookout post. Instead of being vandalised and destroyed, as it would have been in England, it remains largely as it was when it was abandoned, or it did when we walked to it in 1996.

It is an ideal place for a picnic and for ship and birdwatching on a clear day, and it is not too strenuous a walk.
