A Guide to the Isle
of Skye
(written by Janet Boote)

You have reached the website
of Gareth and Janet Boote, which is mainly a guide to the Isle
of Skye. We hope you enjoy your visit and we welcome comments
by e-mail. Unfortunately Gareth's health deteriorated quite badly
in 2006 and we have not visited Skye since 2007.

New additions in 2006:
Updated Kyle Page
New "Probably not" page
(The holiday was great; should we go and live there?)
Both are accessible from the next
page which you get to by clicking the picture lower down. |

This site is a personal
home page, not supported by any advertising. In consequence we
can say what we think and we don't have to say nice things about
places we don't like in order to please our advertisers.
Also, because this site
is run purely as a hobby and not for any commercial purpose, you
won't be plagued with advertising banners, or be asked to sign
anything, buy anything or join anything.
The site is best viewed using Internet
Explorer at 800 x 600 resolution and I have tried to keep the
graphics manageable for those using dial-up modem access, but
I strongly recommend broadband cable access if you can get it.
Before we go to Skye here
is a fancy applet contraption, just to show that I know how to
make them work. There aren't any others on the site. My aim is
to provide information, not garish and wacky effects beloved by
so many webmasters!

About Gareth:
Gareth took early retirement
after ill health and used to enjoy his hobbies which were mountain
walking, computers, cars, the Internet, cycling and photography.
Unfortunately his health now precludes most of these activities.
This site is therefore getting increasingly out of date but provides
a record of the good times we had on Skye
About Janet:
Janet works as an I.T. trainer in
the National Health Service and enjoys knitting, mountain walking,
travel, computers, needlework and cooking.
